It would be great if you could add runs into your drop down menu….I am using the Insanity/P90x version and it is great, but I can’t schedule running right into it.

gravman November 7, 2010 at 7:44 am

I could add runs. Do you mean as a replacement for cardio on certain days? Or as a completely separate field on each day? Would the text simply be “run”, or should I put “1 mile run,” “2 mile run,” etc.? I like this idea and I want to do it.

Frankie Scribe November 7, 2010 at 7:50 am

Yes, as a replacement to cardio – or maybe also in addition to P90x days? I sometimes do doubles on weight days. I think just putting run is sufficient, because runners will vary distance depending on their plans. There are two of us that I know of for sure that have been struggling to incorporate runs into a hybrid.

Thanks!

So on cardio days I can just add “run” to the list, but on resistance training days I need to add another field with two options in the list, either blank for nothing, or “Run”. Is that right?

Ok, check this out and tell me what you think.
P90X Insanity Hybrid Build Your Own Workout w_run 1.xls

I added a “Run/Bike” option to each cardio list and I also added it as a secondary option on pretty much every single day in the routine. The cell just above the “day” cell, below Ab Ripper, is a Run/Bike or blank drop down. I have them all blank as default, but if you click in the cell the drop down should be available. Please let me know anything I may have missed.

I love the schedules you’ve created, do you have a worksheet for the original Power 90?

Reply

gravman November 8, 2010 at 8:05 am

I’m sorry, Joe, but right now I don’t. I have thought about it, though, and you’re not the first person to ask so I should probably take a more serious look at the idea. The thing that stopped me before was that in the original P90, which I love by the way, there is not a concrete day where you change from the 1-2 series up to the 3-4 series. It’s more of a “when you feel you’re ready” kind of thing and that makes setting up the calendar a bit more complicated. I wanted to try to find a way where the user could maybe enter two dates, one for when they start and one for when they step up to the next level. It would almost have to be two calendars now that I think about it. Either that or I just leave off the 1-2 and 3-4 designations. I will mess around with the spreadsheet tonight and see what I can figure out. Please let me know any ideas you might have that could help.

Threw a Power90 calendar together and added it to the list above. Let me know what you think, it’s pretty simple.

My wife wanted me to ask if you could possibly design a calendar for the slim in 6 program?

Reply

I created a Slim in 6 calendar for Joe and his wife. It is in the list above. Thanks Joe for the great suggestion!

Thanks for creating the P90X/P90X+/P90X One on One/Insanity make your own workouts.

Where would the Pay It Forward Bonus workout fall in this? Could you include RevAbs and when it comes out Asylum as well? I was originally looking for something to help me figure out how to include the P90X One on Ones in the schedule, but I really like the idea of being able to combine these programs after I’ve gone through all of them (P90X/P90X+/P90X: MC/Insanity/Asylum/RevAbs).

Perhaps you could rate them from most intense to least intense simply by putting the most intense near the top, and then putting the amount of time it takes to go through them at the end of the title.

Thanks again!

Hello, and thanks for your comment/request.

If I remember correctly, the Pay if Forward bonus workout isn’t really a full workout, it’s more of a “pass this along to your friends to get them motivated” type thing. I’ll take a look at that DVD tonight to make sure I’m right. If it does lend itself to being included I will do so.

I don’t know if I want to include RebAbs, I don’t know how well it lends itself to being incorporated into P90X. Also, I don’t own that workout and I’m not sure what kind of schedule it follows. If you want me to simply throw in the RevAbs workouts on Ab days and let you choose from all of them, I can easily do that.

I haven’t heard anything about Asylum. I’ll look into it and if it makes sense to include it then I have no problem doing so.

I hesitate to rate the workouts by intensity level because I think the intensity level is different for different people: what’s super intense to you may only be moderately intense to someone else. I believe I do have the routines listed in the order they are performed in Insanity, so if that program goes from less intense to more intense then that would be the way it’s listed on the calendar. I’m not going to include the time in the workout title because it would take up too much room in the cell and the font size would be reduced to the point where it would be too hard to read. Plus that sounds like a lot of tedious work for me. If you want to send me a list of all the workouts and their playing times I will include a table with the calendar where the workout is listed with its playing time. Possibly it could be a second page to be printed optionally.

Thanks again for your feedback. Even though I feel like I said no to most of your requests I really do appreciate you taking the time to think of ways to make the calendars more useful. Please don’t hesitate to let me know any other ideas you might have.

Thanks for planning to look at Pay It Forward.

Asylum is just the sequel to Insanity.

There’s a thread on BeachBody http://teambeachbody.com/connect/message-boards/-/message_boards/message/41594654 about combining all three. The idea is that Insanity (eventually Asylum) has better cardio, Rev Abs has some killer abs workouts (Mercy Abs), and and Tony has better muscle/yoga/stretching overall framework. I’m going through the programs (P90X, P90X +, P90X: MC, RevAbs, Insanity, Asylum) once as originally laid out, subbing some one on one stuff into P90X +. After I’m done with Rev Abs I’ll make my suggestions as to where those workouts would fit.

“If you want to send me a list of all the workouts and their playing times I will include a table with the calendar where the workout is listed with its playing time. Possibly it could be a second page to be printed optionally.”

I will do that over the next month.

If any of the Power 90 Master series stuff is worth subbing into the workout rotation, please include that.

Your second response got trapped by the spam filter because of the link to the beachbody message board.

“After I’m done with Rev Abs I’ll make my suggestions as to where those workouts would fit.”

Cool. After reading some of that thread, it actually sounds like a really nifty idea. I’ll go ahead and throw the RevAbs routines in there for the Ab days on the Build Your Own Workout calendars.

“I will do that over the next month.”

Cool. If you will do RevAbs and Insanity, I’ll do P90X and the One on Ones.

“If any of the Power 90 Master series stuff is worth subbing into the workout rotation, please include that.”

I actually thought those were already in there. If not I will add them, even though I wasn’t a huge fan of the Master Series.

“I’m not looking for a coach per se, but I’d if there’s anything I can do to make sure you get rewarded for these amazing sheets, like buying the products through your site, please let me know.”

That’s very kind of you and I will gladly take you up on it. You may not know it, but if you bought any of your Beachbody products through Beachbody, they would have automatically assigned you a coach, who may or may not have ever contacted you, but who does get credit any time you buy anything else from Beachbody. To change your Coach, all you have to do is send an email to Beachbody at Customerservice@teambeachbody.com letting them know you would like to switch Coaches. I’m pretty sure all you will need is the name of the new Coach you would like to switch to. You can also call Team Beachbody Coach Relations Department at 1-800-240-0913 and they can switch your Coach over the phone. My name is Aaron Gravvat and my coach ID is 35112. Again, thank you.

There’s a thread on the BeachBody boards where guys have combined P90X, Insanity, and RevAbs. It looks like they’re mostly using Mercy Abs. I’ll give you my feedback after I’ve gone through the program. I’m going through P90X, P90X: MC, Insanity, Asylum, RevAbs all as designed. I might sub some P90X One on Ones into P90X+. Once I’m done with that I’m going to be using what you’ve set out here.

I’m not looking for a coach per se, but I’d if there’s anything I can do to make sure you get rewarded for these amazing sheets, like buying the products through your site, please let me know.

I sent them an email requesting that you become my coach. I would have cc’ed you on the email if I had found your email address. If it’s possible to check whether it went through, let me know in case it didn’t and I’ll call in.

I won’t be getting to Insanity and RevAbs until later in the year… but when I do I will absolutely update that information. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to email me.

hi, do you have a Rev Abs schedule or a P90x/RevAbs schedule. I am looking to hybrid these two along with some of the one on ones. Thanks

I have been communicating with Jose via email. I am working on a Rev Abs calendar, it’s just taking me longer than I thought it would… motivationl issues. I will try to get it done soon. I apologize for it taking me so long.

I see that you said you have a p90x lean calendar but I can’t seem to find it on your website anywhere. Is there a pre-made one?

Doubles and Lean are both done as worksheets in the P90X calendar.

First, thank you so much for taking the time to making these spreadsheets. I misplaced all the books that came with the P90x in our last move. So your workout sheets come in handy.

Second, I just wanted to say I read your “My Story” and I grinned from ear to ear. I was always the “skinny” girl from the time I was born. In fact, to join the U.S. Army I had to gain two pounds; I weighed 98 lbs. For days my recruiter would take me out to eat. He saw me eat, what would have made him gain at least 10 lbs in a heart beat. By the time we would get back to the office for a weigh in, I would weigh in at 98 lbs. He could not believe it. On the day I was to go to Meps he give me a half a gallon of whole milk and about 5 to 6 bananas to eat. I finally weighed in at 102 lbs. I have never gone back to 98lbs (not that I want to) but at the moment I’m my biggest at 145. I’m 33 yrs young, 5′ 3″ & 3/4 (can’t forget the 3/4) and my goal is to get down to 120, possibly 115 lbs.

Thank you once again for the spreadsheets and also for inspiring!

Hi Rosie, thanks for the comment. It’s nice to have inspired someone lol. I think you may be the only person to ever have read my story. Maybe I should go back and re-read it and make sure it’s up to date. Good luck with P90X. Please check back in and let us know how you’re doing.

Hello, Thank you SO much for all your work on this! We just purchased p90x and are ready to get started. I printed out the calendar for my husband a few minutes ago, and tried to customize it for myself for the Lean schedule. I could not figure out how to do it- is there a lean calendar available to customize and print? The “lean” choices were not in the drop down boxes on the regular p90x calendar. Thank you again! I’m excited to get started!

gravman July 29, 2011 at 3:39 pm

There is no Lean calendar with the “build your own workout” but there is a separate worksheet for the lean routine on the regular P90X calendar.

thanks so much for the calendars. I recall seeing a P90x workout for Lean and Doubles tabs, but I no longer see it on here. I was only able to print out the Classic.

The Lean and Doubles worksheets are tabs at the bottom of the window in the P90X calendar. I just double checked… they’re there.
